Getting lost together since 2011!

My name is Luka Kastelic. I was the first to introduce corn labyrinths to Slovenia back in 2011, and I am the visionary behind the Ljubljana corn labyrinth and Krtina corn labyrinth projects. The basic idea stems from North America, where they have been creating such labyrinths since 1993. I developed a model for visiting the labyrinth where visitors search for fun and educational points to help them fill out a password. For a correctly filled-out password, they participate in a prize draw and receive a reward. We also used to offer gift vouchers. Today, we have gift cards that you can easily give to someone as a present.

2008

Graduated with a thesis titled: Amusement Theme Park Corn Labyrinth as a Business Opportunity.

2011

Opened a theme park with a corn labyrinth in Bled in collaboration with Bojan Gogala. The Bled labyrinth operated until 2013.

2018

Opened a corn labyrinth in Marjeta na Dravskem polju near Maribor in collaboration with the Association for Spending Leisure Time in Nature.

2021

Opened a corn labyrinth in Krtina near Ljubljana.

In 2021, we chose the dragon, a symbol of the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, located near our labyrinth, as the theme for our Krtina corn labyrinth.

Our Krtina corn labyrinth spans 4.5 hectares of a cornfield located in the small village of Krtina. The labyrinth is surrounded by cornfields, meadows, and a walking path. Not far away, the Radomlja stream flows. In the center of the corn labyrinth, we have placed a bridge from which you get a view of the entire labyrinth and the surroundings, including the picturesque church of St. Leonard and St. Roch. A special feature is the 2 entrances and exits, so you can choose where the path will take you. You can view the pictures in our gallery.

We started planning several years ago, and we began the work in April 2021. We started by sowing the corn, then in May by drawing and clearing the paths, and in July, the entire setup and opening followed. You can view the price list here.

2022

We opened a corn labyrinth in the shape of a Native American as a tribute and a thank you to this incredible civilization, which, among other things, introduced us to the invaluable crop, corn.

2023

We opened a long-planned image of a corn labyrinth in the shape of the universe, as it is just as mysterious and exciting to explore as labyrinths are. We named it Corn Universe. We regularly publish all updates in our news section.

2024

For the theme of the Krtina corn labyrinth, we chose the oceans, because they are, among other things, vast and exciting to discover, just like labyrinths. We named it Corn Ocean. There are 7 figures created, such as an octopus, a sea turtle, a ship, a starfish, coral, a seashell, and a fish.

2025

The labyrinth and the Minotaur have been inseparably linked since ancient times. In ancient Greek mythology, the Minotaur lived in the middle of a great labyrinth on Crete – for him, this space was a trap, but for brave heroes, it was a test of courage, ingenuity, and perseverance.

When we were creating our corn labyrinth this year, we wanted to connect the story with the shape itself. That is why we chose the image of the Minotaur – a symbol of the labyrinth, mystery, and heroic challenges.

2026

With the 2026 season, the corn labyrinth is moving from the Krtina location to the City Municipality of Ljubljana, specifically to Stanežiče.

With the change of location, the unforgettable adventure will be even more accessible. Just 10 minutes from the center of Ljubljana, 15 minutes from Kranj.

The theme of this year’s corn labyrinth is the jungle, which is as exciting and mysterious as labyrinths are. We invite you to the Corn Jungle.
